EV Charger Placement Assessment
RER is currently partnering with the city of Colorado Springs to assess EV adoption in the multi-unit dwelling (MUD) rental market segment. RER will present the results of this project, which includes a geospatial visual analytics decision platform that enables utilities, cities, and state planners to design and evaluate EV charging placement in terms of how they can optimize both investment value and equity across underserved communities, including residents of multifamily rental buildings.
The analysis combines building location and density data, existing charger infrastructure data, and driving/charging patterns collected through EV telematics. In addition, the study includes interviews with property managers and building owners to assess interest in and barriers to EV charger installation directly at MUD sites to inform the city’s EV Readiness Plan
